Pūķarags was born from a simple dream — to share the unspoiled beauty of Latvia's Baltic coastline with travelers seeking something authentic. Founded over a decade ago in the quiet village of Pape, our recreation complex sits just 30 meters from the sea, on the edge of the remarkable Pape Nature Reserve.
What began as a modest seaside retreat has grown into a welcoming complex offering a weekend house, comfortable guest rooms, and a campground that draws nature lovers from across Europe. Our founders envisioned a place where families, couples, and adventurers could disconnect from the noise of everyday life and reconnect with the rhythm of the Baltic Sea.
Over the years, we have carefully expanded while preserving what makes this place special — the raw beauty of the coastline, the proximity to wild horses and European bison, and the warm, personal hospitality that keeps guests returning season after season. Pūķarags is more than accommodation; it is a gateway to one of Latvia's last truly wild coastal landscapes.
